Urn with ashes of the Cid and Chimene.
Relics inside are supposed to come from the presumed tomb of the Cid and Chimene in Burgos cathedral, broken into by the Napoleonic army in 1808.
The lower part of the body of the urn with relief garlands, hunting horns, and stag's head repeated three times.
Remaining parts: foot, upper part of the body, and cover with openwork decorations, gilded and enamelled, with hunting motifs, including a head of Diana, stag's heads and antlers, horns, spears - ornaments taken from models of Jaen Berain (1637 - 1711), draftsman and engraver.
Among the ornaments on the body twelve cameoos of jasper set in medallions of the type of the 17th century Milan cameo, with animals, single or in couples, including elephants, lions, bears, boar, and goats; on the cover a large cameo with the head of Omphale and six smaller ones with pairs of hares, dogs, and fantastic animals; inside, under a glass pane, fragments of bones.
